It’s almost Christmas!!! 😁🎄☃️🦌🎅🏻🎁
That means a lot of people will start an advent calendar on Sunday.
About 5 or 6 years ago my daughter and I saw an idea for one in a magazine/on TV/Pinterest and thought it would be fun to make our own…we decorated tin cans and I filled them with small treats and we stacked them in a pyramid…then she took one down each day to make a pyramid of empties.
The next year (I think we purposely searched pinterest…risky idea) and made a card tree out of loo roll tubes… horizontal so they were like post holes for things to be put into.
A couple of years ago we bought a glass goldfish bowl (cheap one for candles courtesy of B&M) and filled that with prezzies lucky-dip style.
Last year we saw a magazine article with brown paper parcels on a mobile -type hanger with them strung on different lengths of string… very her; brown paper/rustic/natural and they looked beautiful hanging from her ceiling. However, after about halfway through the month you have a lot of empty strings and an uneven weight on your mobile structure.
So this year I was thinking brown parcels in a cute box… but…..
I saw some cute wooden numbers in The Works and stuck those to parcels. I couldn’t find a box of the right size/design so used a gift bag saved from last year…. so here’s 2019’s advent calendar:
Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas for next year.
Have a good one!
