It’s Monday. That’s not a bad thing because it’s 14 weeks until Christmas! Which means my brain gets crazier and more random than usual…..you have been warned! 🙂
So let me share some random thoughts with you this morning: Starting with the Christmas thing, the teenager and I have a tradition of making an advent calendar each year for me to fill. This year we discovered a whole host of them on Pinterest so had lots to choose from, but we’ve made our decision. There was a peg-board one I liked but as it goes in her room, she had the final say. We agreed on a lucky-dip style one. The image on Pinterest had a glass goldfish bowl filled with brown paper parcels…. I have a beautiful gift box I received a present in last year so we are going to use that.

I have a beautiful gift box I received a present in last year so we are going to use that. I’ve bought a few fillers for it already and have learned from last year to save back some small boxes (like toothpaste and matches) and packets to disguise shapes! I’ll share some filler ideas with you when we get closer.
Speaking of the teenager, she had a pretty rough weekend bless her, she came home from school really sick on Friday. Mr.B went to see his parents Saturday, we were sad we couldn’t go but didn’t think they wanted teenager bugs.
Thankfully she perked up yesterday and has gone back to school today as normal. She had tons of homework, including insane spellings to learn (I mean I’m a qualified teacher and I got one wrong!). What21st Century teenager is going to use the word acquiescent?? Honestly, I only knew what it meant because it’s used in Bedknobs and Broomsticks; it’s in a line from the song Eglantine…. and I’ve been singing that for 3 days now! (As much as I love Angela Lansbury, and David Tomlinson for that matter, the novelty is wearing off!!)
So anyway, there’s been this crazy weekend full of sickness, homework, visiting friends (don’t worry, my teenager was quarantined so she didn’t give it to them!) and a whole host of planning ahead!
I also have some exciting news, this Wednesday I start as a volunteer at a toddler craft club! The frustrated Blue Peter presenter inside me is thrilled! LOL. God gave me a great love for children, big and small, I want to help them learn and play and support the parents where I can. I’m so excited! 🙂
More news: we’re about 2 weeks away from e-book launch!! I’ll keep you posted.
So, now I’ve fried your brains with a small insight into mine, I’ll leave you to go and deliver a birthday present to a little friend who’ll be 3 tomorrow! 🙂
What’s your news? Have you thought about Christmas yet? I’d love to hear from you!
I’d love to hear from you!
Have a lovely day my friends xx
